We’re home from Iceland and England, respectively (and unfortunately). We just want to give you an update about the events we have planned for the coming weeks surrounding our art, Halloween, and the new 1476 soundtrack based on Edgar Allan Poe’s life.
For the next two weekends (October 18/19 & October 25/26), Alexandria Noel along with us in 1476 will have a table at the Salem Open Market on Essex St in downtown Salem, MA. We will have art, art prints, shirts, etc. of Lexy’s paintings and illustrations. We will have the Poe soundtrack for sale along with Poe shirts and tote bags based on the album design. We will also have a small number of our other CDs and possibly the Monastery vinyl (undecided on that one at the moment). Come hang out and chat us up. Last year was surprisingly fun and we met some lovely people. Let’s meet more of you this year.
Also, on the evening of the 18th (this Saturday), I will be attending a Poe-related event that’s being held at Finz on Pickering Wharf in Salem. The event is being put on by The Scarlet Letter Press & Gallery who we created the Poe soundtrack for. I’m not entirely sure but I believe the album will be sold and/or be playing at the event. The event will be theatrical with readings of Poe’s work as well as a history of his life and work. There will be food and drinks. Come get drunk with me. More on the event’s details can be found here on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/events/964087033608847/
For those of you that don’t know, we recently made a soundtrack as 1476 inspired by the life of Edgar Allan Poe called Edgar Allan Poe: A Life Of Hope & Despair for an art show to celebrate the unveiling of Poe’s statue in Boston this month. The art show is at The Scarlet Press & Gallery on Pickering Wharf in Salem, MA and will be running through the whole month of October. The soundtrack is being sold there now in CD format as well as the painting I did for the album cover. Alexandria Noel’s painting ‘Masque of the Red Death’ is also on display and for sale there through the month. Our friend Grant Goodwine submitted one his surreal and beautifully noisy illustrations for “The Fall Of The House Of Usher”.
The original can be purchased at the gallery as well as prints. Check out his website for tons of art, inspiring essays, and works he’s done for bands, etc.: http://grantgoodwine.com
The pre-order for our album has begun shipping and has arrived on many doorsteps already though official release will be Halloween. Some special editions remain and the standard edition is available to order as well. For a soundtrack to coincide with a night filled with dim lights, drinks, and despair, order & listen here: http://store.1476cult.com/album/edgar-allan-poe-a-life-of-hope-despair
The first review for the soundtrack is in. Check it: http://technicolorterror.wordpress.com/2014/10/16/1476-edgar-allan-poe-a-life-of-hope-despair/
Also, a very flattering review for the Monastery album has been written too: http://www.deafsparrow.com/2014/09/29/monastery-peculiar-storms/
More news on the way soon! Thank you for all the love and support!
