As some of you know, a few months ago we at Seraphim House were given an opportunity to contribute to the upcoming Edgar Allan Poe-inspired art show Spirits Of The Dead. The muses proved faithful and fruitful. As 1476, we’ve completed a full-length album’s worth of material titled “1476 presents Edgar Allan Poe: A Life Of Hope & Despair”.
It has 8 songs and clocks in at around 45 minutes. Here’s the track listing:
I. A Circle Of Hope & Despair
II. Extraction Environs
III. Little Love Voice
IV. A Circle Is Eternal
V. Illness Environs
VI. Death Environs
VII. Gutter Death Posture
VIII. A Circle Of Guilt & Grief
This album will be released on CD for the time being and will be available in a few places. Throughout the month of October, it will be for sale at the art show which will be held at The Scarlet Letter Press & Gallery in Salem, MA. I (Robb) will be at the opening of the gallery for anyone interested in experiencing my social awkwardness first hand. Neil & Lexy will be honeymooning in Europe somewhere at that time…so, you’re stuck with me. The date isn’t set in stone but it’s looking like it may be October 11th. We’ll let you know when the date is confirmed and provide more details. Toward the end of October, we three will be doing a few art fairs in Salem where the album and related visual art will be for sale. We’ll update you on that as they get closer. Otherwise, the album will be available from our website on Halloween (October 31) because we’ve been feeling uncommonly festive. We will set up a pre-order in a few weeks when the CDs arrive to us (hopefully) in tact. There will be a small number of special editions as well.
At the art show, Alexandria Noel’s painting “Masque of the Red Death” will be on display and for sale (pictured below). My portrait of Poe as seen in the album cover photo will be there as well—also for sale.
In the next newsletter, I’ll talk in more detail about the album itself: writing, recording, special edition details, etc. We will let you hear some of what we’ve done as well. As mentioned in the previous newsletter, this is not the follow up to Wildwood/The Nightside but a small detour off the path and into the wilderness.
Seeking curiosities as always,
Robb
